Puzzle Galaxies takes the familiar jewel-matching format associated with Bejeweled and Candy Crush and places it aboard a space station. The objective is to match jewels stored in its pods, but the board is under pressure: enemy ships arrive and try to take matching jewels while the player races against the clock. That combination makes the task more than a calm search for combinations; players must also contend with interruptions and a deadline.
The game describes five different enemy ships, alongside bonus pods and a locked safe that must be unlocked to beat a level. These elements give its puzzle design several kinds of complication beyond arranging matches, while the station’s pods provide the recurring structure for each level. The listed campaign comprises 68 levels, so the central challenge is presented through a sequence of timed objectives rather than a single endless board.
Puzzle Galaxies also includes an unlimited-time mode, which shifts attention away from the countdown and toward earning a high score by making as few moves as possible. The contrast between timed pod-clearing and move-efficient scoring is the clearest distinction in how the game asks players to approach matching.
