Project Hospital blends hospital construction with hands-on medical diagnosis and staff management. Players can design a facility from the ground up, customize it with objects, materials, and colors, or start from a prebuilt hospital or clinic. Alongside planning rooms and operations, the game asks you to hire staff, assign specializations, and keep employees satisfied, giving the management side a practical human dimension.
Medical cases are more than background to the building work: patients undergo examinations and laboratory tests, and players use equipment to work through diagnostic puzzles. They can hospitalize patients, perform surgery, guide doctors through complicated cases, or follow particular patients. Insurance contracts also affect which patients arrive, connecting administrative decisions with the conditions doctors are asked to treat.
Its formats range from guided tutorial levels to an open-ended sandbox, a crisis-focused campaign, and six challenges centered on specialized departments. The game also includes running an ambulance service and responding to events and emergencies.
