Prison Life turns a prison break into a team contest of changing duties. Each player receives a random role and works with others in that role: prisoners have four in-game days to escape, while guards try to stop them. That opposing objective gives the game its central tension, with players on both sides influencing whether an escape succeeds.
For prisoners, getting out can mean digging underground, searching for resources, and crafting tools such as a fence cutter or bomb. Escape routes range from an entrance door and underground passages to vehicles and transport, including a helicopter, jetski, raft, ship, or spacecraft. Guards have their own investigative work: they can search players for illegal items, catch prohibited behavior, arrest wanted prisoners, and send them to solitary. Repairing damaged walls or fences is another listed guard task, so the role is more than simply chasing escapees.
The three maps, Bricksfield, Lost Island, and Space, provide distinct settings for these competing plans, while voice chat and customizable settings support coordinated play. Prison Life is designed for groups of four to twelve players, with multiplayer, online PvP, and online co-op listed among its supported formats.
