Neighborville’s uneasy calm gives way to a fresh conflict between plants and zombies, sending the two sides into battles across the town and its outskirts. The game builds on the series’ comic clash with a broad cast of customizable fighters: its twenty launch classes include a Team Play class for each faction, and character-specific abilities shape how each one joins the fight. Outfits and wacky weapons let players give their fighters a distinctive look.
Online multiplayer supports battles for up to twenty-four players across six PvP modes, including Battle Arena. Beyond those match-based contests, free-roam regions open up Weirding Woods, Mount Steep and Neighborville Town Centre, while Giddy Park serves as a social area where players can squad up with as many as three friends. This mix of competitive modes, exploration and a shared social space gives the game a different rhythm from a straightforward arena shooter.
The setting stays playful, but its design gives the plant-and-zombie rivalry several ways to unfold, from class-based team combat to roaming around Neighborville’s unusual corners. PC players should also note that split-screen couch co-op is not available on that version.
