Planet Explorers begins with a colony ship crashing on Maria, leaving survivors to face a hostile world in the year 2287. Their task is to explore, gather resources and establish a new home, but the design lets survival take more than one shape: farming, feeding colonists and negotiating with sentient aliens can matter as much as fighting local creatures.
The single-player Story Mode combines action-adventure and RPG elements with colony building, farming, training, diplomacy, missions and a storyline players can follow or ignore. Adventure Mode shifts to a procedurally generated map, where random missions, bosses and dungeons sit alongside survival and versus play. For a quieter contrast, Build Mode removes enemies and supplies unlimited building materials, creating space to experiment with the game’s creation tools. Those tools can be used to make vehicles, weapons, objects, aircraft, boats and armor.
Its mix of settlement management, exploration and creative construction is distinct from a purely combat-focused adventure, so the relevant play format depends on whether someone is pursuing the story, testing a build or exploring a generated landscape.
