Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo casts Pippit, a self-declared yoyo master, into a family power struggle. When rival companies move against his aunt, Madame Pipistrello, the two must cooperate amid a contest over the city’s electricity supply. That corporate-crime premise gives the adventure a personal thread as Pippit confronts rival entrepreneurs and their underlings.
The yoyo is both weapon and movement tool. Players learn tricks and Special Moves, then chain maneuvers to reach new places, take on enemies, and find alternate routes through the city. Exploration, platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving meet in four districts, with the route onward shaped by close attention to the surroundings. Businesses belonging to the crime bosses lead into labyrinthine buildings where foes and action puzzles stand between Pippit and a showdown.
Badges can alter how the game plays, while passive Upgrades and collectibles add further discovery to the city-spanning adventure. The appeal lies in navigating a dense urban setting, experimenting with yoyo-based traversal, and choosing among possible solutions as the city opens up.
