Pioneers of Pagonia casts players as a navigator in a world shattered into fog-covered islands. The central goal is to find the Tower of Visions and reunite Pagonia, while each island brings opportunities to discover factions, artifacts, and stories. This gives the settlement-building a wider purpose: restoring connections across a fractured world, rather than developing an isolated town.
Its simulation emphasizes visible work and logistics. More than 60 building types and 100 commodities feed production chains, with Pagonians working, trading, and moving goods along roads and transport routes. Players explore procedurally generated islands, trade and complete quests to build alliances, then prepare settlements for threats including bandits and mythical beings. Combat is framed around tactics and preparation, supported by a strong economy and defenses.
The game offers a story campaign, single-player play, and shared co-op for up to four players, with participants able to build, trade, or manage resources together. A map editor adds another creative format: players can make islands and challenges to share.
