Pictopix turns grid logic into a picture-making puzzle: color the correct squares to uncover an image. Its boards begin small and grow larger, while clues are designed to make puzzles logically solvable without guessing. Hints offer support for beginners, and players can mark squares temporarily, undo or redo moves, and zoom in on larger grids.
The game offers four modes: Classic, Mosaics, Endless and Challenges. Its collection includes more than 300 puzzles, with additional puzzles made by players; a built-in editor lets players create puzzles and share them through Steam Workshop. A tutorial introduces the rules, while achievements and awards provide further goals. Relaxing jazz and bossa nova music accompany the puzzle-solving, and hidden secrets add another layer of discovery.
Players can suspend and resume puzzles at any time, and the game supports mouse, keyboard, controller and touchscreen input. Together, the varied modes, adjustable puzzle-solving pace and user-created boards give the game room for both a quick grid and a longer challenge.
