People Playground is a single-player physics sandbox built around manipulating ragdolls and testing what happens when they meet dangerous objects and conditions. Its premise is deliberately open-ended: players can injure or kill ragdolls in a range of ways, then experiment with whether they can be revived using equipment such as an ECG and blood supply. The focus is less on a prescribed sequence of challenges than on freely exploring the game’s systems.
Those systems give the sandbox its distinctive texture. Objects have properties including weight, sharpness, conductivity, heat capacity and bullet resistance, while the simulation handles temperature, heat transfer, electricity and rigid-body physics. Their interaction can produce emergent behavior, rather than only outcomes explicitly designed in advance. Players can also build contraptions, from airplanes and walkers to automatic doors and computers, or use Steam Workshop creations, mods and addons to broaden the available objects and ideas.
Steam Workshop support adds a route to player-created contraptions and expanded tools, while the core appeal remains the freedom to test physical interactions, construct devices and see how the simulation responds.
