Penumbra: Necrologue is a community-made total conversion mod for Amnesia: The Dark Descent, imagining a continuation of the Penumbra series. It picks up after Penumbra: Requiem, following Philip as he seeks answers about what he witnessed in the Archaic Shelter and tries to survive the horrors beneath the ice.
The mod’s design centers on atmosphere and survival in a hostile, underground setting. Rather than presenting a fixed resolution, it offers alternative playthroughs and multiple endings, placing the story’s direction in the player’s hands. Its premise draws on the earlier Penumbra games while setting Philip’s final journey against threats deep below the ice.
Audio is a distinctive part of the experience: the mod includes English and Russian voice acting, alongside an original soundtrack inspired by the earlier work of Frictional Games composer Mikko Tarmia. Together, its branching outcomes, voiced presentation, and series-inspired music give this community project its own take on the Penumbra continuation. As a total conversion, it is built for Amnesia: The Dark Descent; the exact scope of its content may differ from the broader series context.
