Writer Penelope Pendrick is called to Carlisle, Connecticut, to help investigate three people who vanished from the same town in one week: a bookstore owner, a reclusive woman and a teenage boy. As Penelope pursues the case, she discovers connections among four suspects and clues reaching back to a local artist who died fifty years earlier. The search grows more dangerous as time runs short for the missing.
This single-player, first-person point-and-click adventure builds its mystery through conversation, observation and puzzle solving. Non-linear dialogue lets players steer exchanges with the suspects, while choices matter; snooping carries the risk of being caught. A magnifying glass helps examine environments, and inventory items can be inspected for details. Carlisle is also presented as a place to watch closely, with a clock indicating who is around and when.
The design mixes investigation with practical casework: players can use a landline to call friends or order pizza, consult in-game notes and a checklist, and type answers to questions to progress. Puzzles draw inspiration from a famous artist, and two difficulty levels offer a choice in challenge.
