Pax Autocratica: Prologue is a free, limited slice of a dystopian colony sim crossed with a first-person roguelite. Its premise puts you in charge of a fledgling regime: develop the first sector, Elysia, and challenge the power ruling it. The prologue has a smaller base and battles than the full game, so it presents this mix on a more contained scale.
Colony management is tied to political control. Citizens can be assigned to mine, gather, haul, research, and manufacture supplies, while your approach to governing ranges from surveillance and punishment to comfort and prosperity. Their reactions may include loyalty, fear, gratitude, or rebellion, making social order part of the challenge rather than mere backdrop. Expeditions add another layer: venture into the Tyris System for resources, recruits, and trade, then fight alongside troops in first-person battles.
Each expedition can yield roguelite cores that alter weapons, combine effects, or bolster the squad, shaping how a run develops. You can also order troops to fight, capture weakened enemies, and bring them back to the base. The prologue omits some advanced systems, including deeper automation and mechs.
