Order of Battle: World War II is a turn-based, hex-based strategy game set across World War II’s different theatres of operations. Its traditional wargame framework is paired with a detailed 3D presentation and an extensive roster of units, from infantry and tanks to ships and aircraft. Across dynamic campaigns, units can carry over between engagements, while “what-if” scenarios put alternate possibilities within the game’s historical setting.
Battles ask players to do more than choose the right unit for each fight. A supply system shapes combat efficiency, making support and broken supply lines central to operations: isolated enemy forces can be vulnerable to encirclement, while an unsupported island landing can struggle to establish a beachhead. Players can also tailor forces through faction specializations and attach Generals, Pilots or Captains to units for command-range bonuses. The combination gives army management and positioning a distinctive role alongside direct combat tactics.
The game offers single-player campaigns as well as multiplayer for up to four players through hotseat or PBEM++, with team, cooperative-against-AI and last-man-standing formats listed. An in-game scenario editor adds another way to engage with its hex-based systems.
