Orbital Gear is a sidescrolling shooter built around piloting a mech through space, where nearby celestial objects shape movement. Gravity is more than scenery: it gives the mech momentum and can influence weapons, making positioning part of the fight. The game combines that unusual movement system with a familiar multiplayer foundation, so encounters revolve around both aiming and navigating changing trajectories.
Its arsenal offers twelve weapons with different effects, alongside four utilities such as turrets, shields and a booster for moving between planets. The modes give those tools different purposes. Deathmatch centers on direct combat, while Orbital Warfare sets opposing teams against one another in a battle to destroy the enemy’s home planet. Teams can use weapons or collect energy cores dropped by defeated opponents to charge a planetary super weapon. For a change of pace, Orbital Trials is a single-player mode built around timed challenges against enemies.
Orbital Gear additionally supports four-player split-screen multiplayer, bringing its space combat to shared local play. Across these formats, gravity-driven movement remains the defining design idea, shaping how mechs cross the battlefield and how players approach a fight.
