Operation: Tango is an online cooperative espionage adventure set in a high-tech near-future world. Two players take distinct roles, Agent and Hacker, and work together on dangerous missions around the globe. Its premise makes coordination part of the spy fantasy: partners investigate, infiltrate and tackle a global menace through a partnership built around shared communication.
The game’s puzzles are designed for different points of view, with one player’s skills complementing the other’s. Missions cannot be completed alone, and the game requires a microphone, making spoken coordination central rather than incidental. Augmented-reality tools and a hyper-connected setting provide the technological backdrop, while the developers describe the challenges as focused on communication rather than difficulty. The result is a cooperative format in which progress depends on two people exchanging information and acting as a team.
A Friend Pass lets an owner invite a friend to play for free, and cross-platform play allows partners on different platforms to team up. The Challenge mode adds another area, puzzles and robots to hack, extending the same cooperative mix of exploration and problem-solving.
