OH! RPG! begins after a familiar fantasy-RPG ending goes wrong: the heroes return home following a failure as the world approaches its end. Rather than controlling those celebrated adventurers, players take the perspective of non-player characters who help them along the way. That reversal gives the story its central joke and its angle on a genre often told from the hero’s side.
The adventure is divided into eight chapters, each with a different atmosphere, gameplay and protagonist. Its cast ranges from an upbeat jester and a quick-witted goblin to members of the hero’s family, while locations shift from grand castles to a peasant village. Battles have their own twist: the heroes are not present at the start, but can be summoned to perform a powerful move whose effect varies with the story’s circumstances. Chapter ratings reward performance, and stage selection lets players revisit levels to improve results.
Optional content, weapon and equipment upgrades, and unlockable skills add goals alongside the chapters. The result is a playful RPG that uses familiar fantasy roles and combat conventions, then makes its supporting characters the ones moving the adventure forward.
