Set in 2086, Of the Devil follows Morgan, a public defender representing a man accused of shooting six people. In a surveillance-heavy society where violent crimes are usually solved and trials overwhelmingly end in guilty verdicts, her task is to uncover the truth and defend her client. The game frames its mysteries around a justice system challenged by corporate power, gangs, cults and conspiracies.
Investigation combines examining 3D crime scenes with questioning characters and using Morgan’s distinctive insight to pursue leads. Deduction then moves into confrontations where players build CREDIT through thorough investigation and effective questions, read opponents’ hands, call bluffs and present evidence to break their arguments. This blend of crime-scene exploration and evidence-driven showdowns gives the courtroom drama its own investigative and strategic rhythm.
The game is designed as a series of self-contained mysteries, with additional Episodes available for purchase. The documented free prologue establishes the premise, while the series’ broader cyberpunk world extends beyond the courtroom.
