Nova Empire casts you as a commander seeking control of the galaxy, with the work split between developing a space station and directing fleets into conflict. Its strategy has both a personal and a collective dimension: you manage a growing empire, while other commanders can become rivals or allies in a shared universe. That blend makes the game more than a sequence of isolated space battles.
At your station, you build and upgrade facilities such as energy plants, trading posts, defenses, research labs, and ship-design centers. Resources including energy, minerals, crystals, and alloy feed into that development. Fleet planning adds another layer: customize ships with weapons and armor, recruit admirals, and choose between heavier dreadnought forces or agile light-cruiser fleets. Scanning for enemy fleets can lead into battles against other players, making preparation and combat parts of the same strategic loop.
The multiplayer format extends beyond direct PvP. A count is a snapshot of participation in that shared setting, not a measure of how any single commander has developed a station or planned a fleet.
