NOBUNAGA'S AMBITION: Souzou with Power Up Kit is a historical simulation set during Japan’s Warring States era. Players take the role of a daimyō, including figures such as Nobunaga Oda or Shingen Takeda, and pursue unification through domestic affairs, diplomacy and battles with neighboring warlords. The game builds on NOBUNAGA'S AMBITION: Souzou, revising and expanding its predecessor’s systems.
Its strategic toolkit extends from forging alliances with other warlords to directing subordinate commanders through a corps command system. Battles are presented as dynamic contests across changing fields and situations, where troop control and tactical planning shape the fight. The game also focuses on the Battle of Sekigahara, offering simultaneous strategy executions intended to recreate the pressures of a large-scale historical clash.
Historical scenarios and character breadth give the campaign its period-spanning character. Four added scenarios include Nobunaga’s birth in 1534 and the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, while Sengoku Chronicle adds more than 500 officers to the roster. Further additions include expanded editing features, new objects and Imperial Diplomacy. Together, these systems frame unification as a mix of internal rule, shifting relationships and command on the battlefield rather than a sequence of battles alone.
