Nioh: Complete Edition casts the player as a lone traveler arriving on Japan’s shores in the age of samurai. The journey pits him against human warriors and supernatural Yokai as he searches for what he seeks, giving its action-RPG premise a blend of historical conflict and dark fantasy. The Complete Edition includes the full game and three expansions, each adding story chapters.
Its design centers on fighting through hostile territory rather than simply observing the period setting. The expansions extend that journey into distinct moments of the Warring States era: Dragon of the North opens the Tohoku region, where Date Masamune gathers spirit stones, while Defiant Honor follows Sanada Yukimura during the winter campaign of the Siege of Osaka. Bloodshed’s End then takes William’s tale into the siege’s summer campaign and its closing chapter.
The store lists single-player alongside online co-op and online PvP, so Nioh supports both a solo journey and multiplayer play. A Steam-exclusive Dharmachakra Kabuto helmet is another edition-specific detail, claimable through a shrine’s Boons selection.
