NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound follows a crisis that erupts while Ryu Hayabusa is away in America: a breach between the human and demon worlds leaves Hayabusa Village under attack. Young ninja Kenji Mozu takes up the fight, eventually forming an uneasy alliance with the Black Spider Clan. That setup brings familiar series lore together with a new protagonist and an interconnected story shared with assassin Kumori.
The game pairs the pick-up-and-play action of the classic titles with added depth and modern precision. Players control Kenji and Kumori simultaneously, while Ninja Fusion combines their souls and skills to unleash powerful attacks. Its mechanics are described as easy to learn but difficult to master, giving the action a clear arcade lineage without limiting its challenge to newcomers. Meticulously crafted pixel art also connects the reimagined setting to the series’ older visual identity.
Ragebound is listed as a single-player game, so its action is framed as a solo journey through the village’s demon threat rather than a shared multiplayer session.
