Necropolis is a third-person action roguelite about pushing through a magical deathtrap whose layout changes as you play. Its twisting halls and chasms contain hostile creatures and useful gear, while each run asks players to explore, fight, and find a way deeper into the dungeon. The game’s hard-edged premise makes failure part of the loop: death is permanent for an adventurer, but a new character can set out again.
Combat and preparation are tied to scavenging. Players craft and equip weapons, armor, and upgrades, then contend with enemies such as Gemeaters, Changelings, and Hoardmen. Procedurally generated dungeons make each new attempt different, and the game describes improving combat skill and dungeon knowledge across repeated runs. The Brutal Edition’s listed additions include The Brute as a playable character, the wintry Black Forest biome, more enemies and equipment, and expanded traps and environmental variety.
Necropolis supports solo play as well as drop-in, drop-out cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. Whether alone or with friends, the central rhythm remains exploration, combat, preparation, and another attempt after defeat.
