Nanobots casts the player as a survivor of a war against intelligent machines, recruited by sentient software called ADNA to exploit a vulnerability in their systems. The immediate objective is stark: destroy every nanobot in an area before advancing. Leave even one behind and it can replicate, undoing progress within seconds. That premise makes vigilance as important as speed.
The core tool is a Magnetic Pulse, aimed by moving the cursor to destroy nearby nanobots along its path. Several abilities add tactical options: Static Charge blocks replication in a small area, Electric Surge temporarily widens the pulse, and Malware makes newly replicated bots self-destruct after a few cycles. Discharge delays cycles by draining nearby power plants, while Prismatic Beam temporarily divides the area with crossing energy streams. The design asks players to balance quick, precise cursor movement with decisions about when and where to use each ability.
The store description lists sixty levels, keyboard and mouse controls, and remappable keys, giving the campaign structure a clear emphasis on individual execution and strategy.
