Murderous Pursuits turns a crowded Victorian passenger ship into a contest of concealed intentions. Players hunt a designated target, or Quarry, while other hunters pursue them in turn. The challenge is to look like an ordinary passenger as you close in, because conspicuous behavior raises exposure and can reveal your identity to both prey and pursuer.
Its scoring rewards more than simply landing a kill. Players balance discretion against speed, seek higher-value weapons, and use abilities such as disguise, flash, and counter to outmanoeuvre rivals. A Quarry Tracker helps locate a target, while a Hunter Indicator warns of danger; guards add another risk by stalling anyone caught in the act. The game offers Hunt, Free-For-All, and Elimination modes, with seven shipboard locations and a choice of sixteen killers. Solo play, online matches, and custom options with bots provide different ways to approach the same stalking-and-counterstalking premise.
Its distinctive appeal lies in the tension between blending into a busy setting and acting decisively before another hunter gets the advantage.
