In MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT, detective Ronan O’Connor is killed during a burglary and wakes in the afterlife, stranded in Dusk. To escape, he must investigate his own death, identify the killer and seek justice. Salem’s wooden homes, narrow streets and gothic churches shape the setting for a case entangled with the town’s supernatural past.
Ronan’s investigation uses abilities that reflect his unusual state. He can enter people’s minds to learn what they think or perceive, influence their thoughts, pass through walls and teleport. Other ways to gather clues include exposing memories in Dusk, questioning the dead and making poltergeist disturbances. The case also brings him into danger from demonic spirits, which he must evade and outwit to preserve his soul.
The game is listed as single-player, and its structure follows Ronan’s investigation rather than a shared multiplayer activity. He can move between haunted locations and revisit earlier scenes to pursue additional leads. Collectibles, side-quests and cases connected to Salem’s residents add further strands to the mystery.
