Moros Protocol opens aboard the Orpheus, a derelict warship in deep space overrun by horrors. The player wakes without memory and must fight through its corridors, following a voice while trying to uncover what lies ahead. Its low-poly environments and crunchy pixel textures give this sci-fi setting a retro look, complemented by dynamic lighting and eerie sound design.
Combat draws on classic first-person shooters, with tactical loadouts shaped by the weapons and augments found during a run. Players can also kick enemies. Roguelike progression combines handcrafted environments with procedural generation, so layouts and challenges vary between attempts; death gives way to opportunities to learn and upgrade. Towering nightmares and Souls-like boss encounters add demanding fights to the relentless enemy pressure.
The game supports single-player as well as co-op, including drop-in play with a friend.
