Mimic Party is an online voice party game built around a simple dare: hear a reference sound, then recreate it with your own voice in one take. Everyone records against the same countdown, and the takes play back individually for the group. With no retries or rehearsal, the fun is in hearing how each player interprets the prompt and reacting together.
Its scoring focuses on the shape of a performance rather than a player’s natural vocal tone, judging melody, rhythm and attacks. Between rounds, a shared wheel deals out bonuses, multipliers and sabotages. A sabotage can alter someone’s next take with effects such as echo or saturation, chop it up, or replace it with a fart sound. Voice chat pauses during playback so the performance is audible to everyone, then opens again for the room’s response.
The game supports one to five players, so its format is geared toward a small group sharing the same prompts and reactions rather than solo play. Themed sound packs provide material ranging from animals to machines, while Steam Workshop lets players create and share packs.
