Set 40 years before the Heroes V saga, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes follows five young heroes on dangerous journeys across Ashan. Their paths lead into a demonic plot, with the fate of the world at stake. The story draws on the childhoods of Anwen, Godric, Fiona, Aidan and Nadia, giving its strategy battles a shared fantasy-adventure backdrop.
Combat hinges on how players arrange their forces. Formations can be offensive or defensive, while combos, spells and artifacts add further tactical choices. Players earn and hire units with different abilities, then develop heroes and units through experience. Alongside standard army battles, the game includes boss encounters and puzzle battles that ask players to find a winning combination within a limited number of turns. Choosing among ten heroes, each with distinct spells and abilities, adds another layer to building a force.
The campaign’s five separate journeys sit alongside several ways to play against others: the game supports hot-seat one-versus-one, online player-versus-player for two to four players, and cooperative battles with a friend against up to two opponents.
