Metamorfose S casts players as Sebastian, a living weapon who does not fit the scientist Gerry’s plans. After one of Gerry’s intelligent creations escapes and frees the others, Sebastian remains asleep; when he enters the conflict, his orders are to hunt down the rebellious species. That setup gives the adventure a clear tension: its protagonist was made to kill, but stands apart from the beings he is sent to destroy.
The game pairs 2D metroidvania exploration with RPG systems. Its map spans different levels and grows more accessible as Sebastian develops his abilities, while character leveling and a percentage-based map provide ways to track progression. Combat rewards also feed into equipment crafting: materials dropped by enemies can be used to make gear. Selectable spells, a variety of items, a bestiary, and bosses round out the documented mix of exploration, collection, and combat.
Metamorfose S is listed as single-player, so its play format centers on an individual journey through this connected world rather than multiplayer sessions. Its controller support and Steam achievements are additional listed features, alongside collectible cards.
