Metal: Hellsinger casts you as The Unknown, a part-human, part-demon avenger fighting through the Infernal Planes to confront the Red Judge. Its premise gives the action a clear destination, but the game’s defining idea is musical as much as martial: this is a rhythm-focused first-person shooter where accuracy on the beat shapes the experience.
Keep time while firing and the music grows more intense, with attacks also causing greater destruction. You can carve through demon hordes with a blade or choose from ranged weapons, then trigger a chosen weapon ability when its ultimate is ready. Tracks were made specifically for the game by Two Feathers, with vocals from metal artists including Serj Tankian, Randy Blythe, and Alissa White-Gluz, tying combat rhythm to the soundtrack rather than treating music as mere background.
The main adventure follows a narrated storyline across distinct hellish realms, while Leviathan offers a different format: survive increasingly challenging demon waves in arenas and make upgrade choices as you advance. Special challenges and the Torment realms add further goals, including leaderboards.
