Marvel’s Midnight Suns brings together role-playing progression and tactical, card-based combat in a darker corner of the Marvel Universe. Players take the role of the Hunter, a customizable original hero, and join familiar Marvel characters in a fight against Lilith and the elder god Chthon. The setup gives the adventure a personal angle: the Hunter’s appearance and responses can be tailored, while relationships with heroes are part of the experience.
Battles unfold as turn-based missions with a squad of superheroes. Rather than relying only on character abilities, players use cards, reposition their team, and take advantage of the environment to line up attacks and combinations. That mix of tactical movement and card-driven choices is the game’s defining combat idea, rewarding deliberate decisions as players work to thwart supernatural forces.
Between missions, the Abbey offers a quieter counterpoint to combat: it serves as a mystical base to explore, with hidden items and secrets to uncover. Players can also spend time getting to know Marvel heroes away from the battlefield.
