Marvel’s Avengers casts Kamala Khan as the determined force behind the team’s return. After a disaster at the Avengers’ San Francisco celebration leaves the heroes blamed and disbanded, she sets out to reunite them against AIM. That story premise gives the campaign a clear arc: rebuild a fractured group while confronting a growing threat, rather than simply dropping players into a sequence of unrelated superhero battles.
Play shifts between solo missions and online co-op, with Warzone Missions supporting either format and Hero Missions designed for single-player. The roster spans 11 heroes, each with distinctive abilities, skills and gear to unlock and customize. Flexible combat and dynamically scaling difficulty add room to tailor a hero’s build and adjust the challenge. The Definitive Edition also gathers released DLC missions and heroes, alongside a large collection of outfits, so its scope extends beyond the original campaign setup.
A count therefore sits alongside a broader play format that is not exclusively multiplayer. Missions range across global hotspots, with locations including Wakanda and an apocalyptic alternative future, giving the Avengers’ campaign a wider setting than its opening San Francisco crisis.
