Manual Samuel turns an ordinary day into a slapstick survival challenge. After making a deal with Death, spoiled rich kid Samuel has to stay alive for 24 hours by controlling his body manually, with Death tagging along. The hand-drawn adventure builds its comedy around the gap between everyday intentions and the effort required to carry them out.
Players use a keyboard or controller to handle actions including breathing, blinking, drinking, walking and talking, one clumsy input at a time. Samuel’s day ranges from getting dressed and driving to work to fighting robots, while the game asks whether you can guide him back to his lavish life and girlfriend. Its premise makes routine bodily functions part of the challenge rather than background activity.
The game also offers Speedrun and Challenge modes across each chapter, alongside five comics that explore the characters’ backstory. Hand-drawn 2D art, character animation and voiced dialogue give the absurd scenario its presentation.
