Malody V is a cross-platform music game developed by volunteers, shaped around rhythm play and player-made charts. Its roots go back to an earlier Key mode, while the current game supports Key, Catch, Pad, Taiko, Ring, Slide Live and Cube. That range gives it a broader identity than a single-lane rhythm game: each mode offers a different format for engaging with music charts.
Creation tools are central to the design. Every mode has a chart editor and a skin editor, and the in-game editor supports creating and sharing charts. Malody V also supports multiple chart formats, full keysound charts and play recording. In play, optional effects such as random, flip, rush and hide can alter how a chart is presented, while online rankings provide a way to compare results. These features make customization and chart variety part of the game’s core appeal.
Multiplayer rooms let friends play online across the supported modes, alongside single-player chart play and online competition.
