Madrobot X casts you as a robot trying to flee a mad scientist’s laboratory, with GoboGobo, another would-be escapee, as your ally. Its old-school shoot ’em up premise turns that getaway into a fight against a scientist determined to stop anyone leaving. The pixel-art presentation and steadily increasing challenge frame the escape as a succession of increasingly demanding battles.
Combat is built around a barrage of bullets, power-ups and special skills, with twelve bosses marking major confrontations. Controller support offers two approaches: Normal assigns movement to the left stick and shooting and beam maneuvers to the right; Classic puts movement and beam control on the left stick, with buttons used to shoot. Nightmare Mode gives the game a named challenge option, while gameplay adjustments include hitbox, touchscreen and health-recovery settings.
Between its alternate control layouts, configurable gameplay settings and boss-focused shoot ’em up design, Madrobot X presents its escape story through direct, action-heavy play.
