LUNAR Remastered Collection brings together two linked-in-time adventures. In LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete, aspiring Dragonmaster Alex and his friends confront the Magic Emperor’s threat to the world. A thousand years later, LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete follows Hiro, his companions, and the enigmatic Lucia as they search for the Goddess Althena while pursued by enemies who call their group the “Destroyer of Lunar.” The paired stories give the collection its defining shape: two distinct journeys in one remastered edition.
Both games use turn-based battles built around party members’ magic, skills, and items, with characters developing their own strengths and abilities. LUNAR 2 adds a Crest System, where crest synergies can grant benefits such as stat boosts and high-level magic. The collection also pairs fully voiced in-game scenes with animated cutscenes, and lets players adjust battle speed. In the first game, party members can share an inventory, and individual characters’ Auto Battle behavior can be customized.
Players can choose between Remastered Mode, with widescreen presentation and enhanced graphics and sound, and Classic Mode, which restores a 4:3 view and original cutscenes, effects, and icons, alongside CRT filter options. These presentation choices let the collection frame its two adventures for either updated visuals or a more retro-styled view.
