Luna Sky begins with its protagonist waking in an unfamiliar place, wearing a crystal necklace and unsure why she is there. Players guide Luna through the strange Crystalline Expanse, facing challenges while uncovering its secret and seeking a way out. The premise gives the platforming a clear thread of exploration rather than presenting a sequence of isolated tests.
Its defining challenge is physics-based movement, with room to improve skill as Luna gains upgrades to her abilities. Early improvements affect running and jumping; a later double jump can help build speed, stop Luna in mid-air, or clear obstacles. Newly unlocked skills can also be taken back into earlier levels, where they may open access to new areas. The game offers five distinct worlds, including four levels centered on a special skill acquired along the way.
Luna Sky is listed as single-player, so its play format is an individual journey through those worlds, not a multiplayer activity. The game also describes itself as exploration-focused and provides no tutorials, while hints are available from each level’s pause menu. Fully voiced cut-scenes, controller support, upgrades, and a soundtrack featuring five composers round out a design built around discovering how Luna’s abilities work.
