Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll follows Nikolai, a Japanese student and son of Soviet immigrants, whose ordinary school life is unsettled by questions about his past and the attention of people with money and power. The intrigue runs alongside his relationships with four heroines: childhood friend Himitsu, returning ex-girlfriend Catherine, proud school trustee’s granddaughter Ellie, and the isolated class representative Kagome. Their histories give the central mystery a personal dimension, while leaving Nikolai to decide whom he can trust.
This is a single-player visual novel built around character stories and choices. Each of the four heroines has her own story and several possible endings, making the relationship paths part of the game’s structure rather than a separate competitive system. Its presentation is substantial: the store description lists more than 500,000 words, over 100 backgrounds, 120 full-screen illustrations, animated sprites and backgrounds, and more than five and a half hours of music.
A count can therefore offer only a momentary view of players engaging with this particular visual novel; the premise, branching heroine routes, and illustrated presentation explain what that audience is playing.
