Lost Judgment sends private detective Takayuki Yagami undercover at a prestigious Yokohama high school after a convicted police officer reveals the murder of the teacher who bullied his son. The case opens onto a wider investigation into bullying and revenge, framing the story as a legal thriller about the conflict between defending the law and pursuing vengeance. Its mystery also reaches across the cities of Kamurocho and Ijincho.
Investigation mixes conventional detective work with gadgets and physical sleuthing: Yagami can use drones and listening devices, scale buildings, and tail suspects to gather clues. The action is equally hands-on, built around three combo-heavy martial arts styles suited to different fights, with street objects such as bicycles and signs available as improvised weapons. Rather than separating detective scenes from action, the game makes gathering evidence and confronting suspects parts of the same pursuit.
The undercover assignment adds school-club activities, including dancing, robotics, boxing, and biker-gang racing, while Side Cases offer help to residents beyond the central mystery.
