Castle Harwood was once the center of a prosperous land, but demonic corruption has turned it into a dangerous ruin. Lost Castle casts players as treasure hunters drawn by the promise of the defeated Earl’s riches, with the possibility of doing some good along the way. Its hand-drawn characters and environments give this dark setup a humorous, retro-inspired presentation.
Runs take shape in randomly generated dungeons populated by changing enemies and bosses, while a large assortment of weapons, armor, items, and potions encourages varied approaches. The action draws on classic beat ’em ups, with skills and special attacks adding to the combat. When a hero falls, that character can be sacrificed to gain new abilities, tying defeat to progression rather than treating each attempt as a simple repeat.
The format supports solo play as well as cooperative and competitive sessions, both online and locally, with room for up to four players. Daily challenges also give treasure hunters a shared activity beyond the randomized dungeon runs.
