Lords of the Realm II casts the player as a feudal contender in thirteenth-century England, where nobles vie for the throne and ordinary people need a ruler capable of uniting the kingdom. Its strategy blends turn-based planning with real-time battles, giving the campaign both a broad contest for power and direct clashes on the battlefield.
Kingdom management links practical decisions to military strength: players plant crops, collect taxes, build weapons and raise armies. Castles can be designed as modest wooden keeps or formidable stone fortresses, while alliances may be made or broken as rivals compete for territory. Sieges unfold in real time, and a Steward can take on some kingdom management, letting players choose how closely to handle those responsibilities.
The package includes the original game and the Siege Pack expansion, with additional castles, battle maps and scenarios. Its listed modes are single-player and multiplayer, with multiplayer supporting up to four friends; internet play is no longer possible, while LAN play remains available.
