Lords of the Fallen is a dark fantasy action RPG in which you play a fabled Dark Crusader seeking to stop the demon God Adyr’s resurrection. Its world is split between two interconnected realms, the living and the dead, each with its own routes, secrets, treasures and enemies. Moving between these parallel worlds is central to the journey and gives exploration a distinctive two-sided structure.
Combat is fast and challenging, with colossal bosses and a broad arsenal that ranges from heavy flails to crossbows and arcane magic. You can customise your character’s appearance, choose from nine starting classes, then develop a preferred style by upgrading stats and weapons. The design pairs action-RPG character building with exploration through a vast, connected setting rather than a single uninterrupted realm.
The campaign can be played solo or in online co-op. Players can journey together in casual sessions or use shared progression, where both save progress; a Free Friends Pass lets you invite someone who does not own the game. More than seventy post-launch updates have included a revamped combat system, performance improvements, difficulty balancing, questlines and modes. The latest major update described in the game’s overview adds deadlier boss battles and Veteran Mode.
