Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a single-player adventure about Max Caulfield, now a photographer-in-residence at Caledon University. When she discovers her friend Safi murdered in the snow, Max tries to rewind time, but instead opens a parallel timeline where Safi is alive and still in danger. The central mystery asks whether Max can uncover the killer and prevent the murder in both versions of reality.
The game’s distinctive power is Shift: Max can move between the two timelines to pursue suspects and seek clues across their different versions of events. Choices shape both realities, while a relentless detective is also closing in on Max and the killer draws nearer as she investigates. The snowbound university campus is presented in two versions, each filled with clues, secrets, and difficult decisions, giving the investigation a supernatural, parallel-world structure.
Double Exposure combines that murder investigation with the series’ choice-driven adventure design, placing the fate of Caledon alongside Max’s effort to save Safi. Its audio includes an original score, new songs, and licensed tracks. Adjustable text size, subtitle options, adjustable difficulty, and the ability to play without timed input offer several ways to tailor the experience.
