LEGO The Lord of the Rings retells the film trilogy’s journey to destroy the One Ring, sending Frodo from the Shire toward Mount Doom with a Fellowship of familiar companions. Its distinctive tone comes from translating the films’ story events into LEGO play, where mini-figure heroes deliver dialogue from the movies and perilous fantasy becomes a playful adventure.
Exploration and action sit side by side: players travel across open-world Middle-earth, face enemies including Orcs and the Balrog, and solve riddles along the way. The Palantír lets players jump between multiple storylines, while collected Mithril can be used to forge items in the Blacksmith Shop. More than 80 playable characters and a range of weapons and magical tools give the quest a collecting and character-switching dimension alongside its battles.
The game supports both single-player and multiplayer, with shared or split-screen play and drop-in, drop-out access for family and friends.
