Last Train Outta’ Wormtown is an online multiplayer game built around an asymmetrical chase: one player is a sandworm, while the others are cowboys trying to get out of town. The worm’s unusual advantage is also a constraint: it can only see players touching the ground. As a pardner, staying off the sand is therefore central to the danger, not just a way to move through the environment.
The escape team must work together to complete objectives, using running, jumping, climbing, and powerful tools to cross the treacherous setting. The opposing worm can burrow underground at great speed and use special abilities to stop the group. Randomized map layouts make rounds vary, while customizable match settings let groups adjust the experience. The game also supports both public lobbies and play with friends through a Friend’s Pass system, where only the host needs to purchase the game.
Customization for both pardners and the worm, plus challenges with cosmetic unlocks, adds progression and identity around that core contest. Together, the shifting layouts and role-based pursuit define Wormtown’s distinctive blend of teamwork, evasion, and hunting.
