Kivi, Toilet and Shotgun is a single-player, top-down action game built around a trek across the desert. The goal is to reach its far end while avoiding obstacles and fighting desert raiders, shifting between encounters in a vehicle and on foot. That journey gives the game a straightforward survival-and-combat premise, with the hazards of the route sharing attention with its enemies.
Combat includes powerful bosses, so preparing for a fight matters. The game features character upgrades and power-ups, alongside car upgrades and customization; it also offers multiple cars to choose from. Its two play styles, character mode and car-driving mode, place movement and combat in different contexts rather than keeping the action entirely behind the wheel. The environments are randomly generated, adding variation to the desert routes.
The presentation brings a comic-book style to its cinematics, contrasting illustrated story moments with the top-down action. Together, the changing environments, vehicle options and upgrades give the expedition several points of variation as Kivi pushes toward the end of the desert. Developed by 16bit Nights and published by Back To Basics Gaming, the game centers on a compact premise: travel through hostile terrain, deal with raiders and bosses, and make sure both character and vehicle are ready for what lies ahead.
