Kingdoms Reborn is a city-building strategy game set on a procedurally generated world, where a small medieval settlement can grow into a far-reaching kingdom. Its simulated citizens and changing landscapes give the project of expansion a human and geographical context: forests, deserts, tundra, and other biomes present distinct challenges and opportunities, so a starting location shapes the conditions of development.
Progression moves through the Dark Age, Middle Age, Enlightenment Age, and Industrial Age. Research advances the population and unlocks buildings, bonuses, and upgrades, while a card-draw system presents fresh choices from building, action, policy, and bonus cards. The combination of long-term planning and changing options gives kingdom building a strategic rhythm rather than relying on settlement growth alone. Different cultures, including Norsemen and Shogunate, offer distinct art and gameplay experiences.
Kingdoms Reborn supports both single-player and multiplayer, with real-time cooperation or competition among friends. Multiplayer can mean building a shared kingdom together or trying to create the most advanced one; the listed capacity is up to 18 players.
