Set in Miami, Arizona, in 1987, Kingdom of Night begins when a satanic cult accidentally summons Baphomet. John enters the chaos after his neighbor is kidnapped, setting out to rescue friends while confronting a demonic invasion. The adventure unfolds hour by hour over a night framed as potentially the town’s last, blending neighborhood-scale horror with a larger fantasy conflict.
Its action-RPG structure centers on exploration, character building, and combat. Players can explore the town, meet its NPCs, and choose the order in which to challenge Demon Generals. Five classes, from Barbarian to Sorcerer, offer different starting styles; three-branch skill trees and class-crossing options let players shape their abilities as they progress. Quest rewards, hidden finds, and random loot add equipment with stat effects and special abilities, giving exploration and progression a shared role in preparing for the Demon lords’ lairs.
Kingdom of Night supports a solo campaign or local co-op with a friend, so its play format accommodates both an individual journey as John and a shared, split-screen adventure. The game’s focus remains a story-driven fight to save Miami, with side stories and class choices shaping how players approach the night.
