King Arthur: Knight’s Tale begins after the legend’s fatal duel: Sir Mordred and Arthur have both died, only to be returned to Avalon by the Lady of the Lake. Mordred must hunt down the resurrected king, whose suffering has transformed the island into a nightmare. That grim premise frames a character-focused RPG in which the fate of Camelot is bound to the choices made along the way.
Its battles combine turn-based tactics with party management. Players assemble knights from six classes, develop their skills, and equip them with mission loot, while injuries, curses, and diseases can keep heroes from the next expedition. These companions have individual personalities, rivalries, and loyalties; decisions can prompt them to leave or turn against Mordred. Moral choices also shape a chart spanning Christianity and the Old Faith, and Tyranny and Righteousness, with consequences for both story and gameplay. Between quests, rebuilding Camelot includes providing facilities for recovery.
The game offers four difficulty modes and a Roguelite Mode, where combat decisions matter alongside moral ones and reloading is disabled. Its campaign can branch, and completing it unlocks endgame challenges featuring mythic boss fights, random quests, and further character progression.
