In Kin and Quarry, an evil Geomancer has stolen the magic essence from the sacred Evertree and buried it underground. You guide a growing band of tiny kin as they dig through the earth, uncovering artifacts and working to restore the tree. The story gives the excavation a clear purpose: go deeper, recover the lost essence, and help the kin succeed.
The game blends direct input with management. Clicking, swiping, and hovering can speed up the kin’s efforts, while hiring miners, diggers, exploders, and other workers builds out the expedition. You can also launch a drill and mine ores to become more effective. Artifacts have a further role beyond discovery: finding them attracts more kin to the cause. This mix of hands-on assistance and expanding workforce shapes the game’s incremental digging loop.
The expedition has a day-and-night pressure point: when night falls, the Geomancer closes the earth and seals the mine, making the threat part of the premise as well as the setting. Its focus is on directing workers, improving the dig, and pushing toward the Evertree’s buried essence.
